gularscute
Social services don't just pounce on people at random and take their children into care without good reason. Even if they were inclined to do that- which is a ridiculous idea- they wouldn't have the time or resources. If anything, social workers' hands are tied by weak laws and bureacracy, and this leads, more often than not, to children remaining with unsuitable parents. I'm sure Trevor McDonald loved having the opportunity to deliver a lot of idiotic misunderstandings on his tabloid scandal revue but as Social Services can't respond in detail due to confidentiality issues, it's nothing more than a mouthpiece for belligerent, manipulative loudmouths with poor parenting skills, bitterly looking for revenge. Still that's the kind of sensationalised nonsense that sells advertising space on ITV.
Hemibr
Blessed are the social workers for they shall inherit the earth. It was a panorama national scandal as i recall highlighting cases in which social services were doing just that in order to hit adoption targets or kids out of the care system for Blairs 30 pieces of silver. Trev is a journalist and will have reported whatever there was to report without fear or favour as Trev does and if he loved the opportunity then he didnt show it. Me for my small part in the game was to be pressured by a social worker into altering a report - bit like the policewoman in the Hillsboro case but wheras she did........... I wouldnt, i didnt, and i sincerely hope the guy kept his kids as a result, unless of course they found evidence which dictated he was unfit from sources other than altered reports. It may be sensationalist nonsense to you but to me its first hand experience.
Mel's Mum
Norrie Waite & Slater and Howells both have specialists in parent v social services but I dont have any personal experience of how efficient they are, might be worth a try though. I worked as a secretary for their Child Care department, which deals with parent and families of chldren under threat of being taken into care. They are dedicated professionals - all women when I worked there, with many years of experience of dealing with Social Services, the courts and CAFCASS. All I know is that what they say and what they actually do are two completely different things - a bit like politicians really! At one time I would have thought it nonsense too - not anymore! Bloomdido
I know someone who is challenging Social Services on their handling of adoption cases. They make mistakes and have their own 'agendas'. You may find this web site interesting.
