Guest sibon
It seems that having money really does buy you influence. Hot on the heels of the granny tax funded giveaway for high earners, we have access to the PM being sold. An absolute snip at £250K To get access to Nick Clegg, you just have to promise to pay £250k. You don't need to actually go through with it though:)
Nagel
£250,000 for access to a meeting with David Cameron? It doesn't seem worth it.

Mr Soft
Surely no political party can be this sick? What about things like integrity and justice and honesty and morality ?

Just stop right there. Before the forum Tories walk right into the gaping open net you left. Labour didn't exactly cover themselves in glory over this sort of thing. Nor did the Major Government. It has nothing to do with party politics and everything to do with the effects of power.

Anna B
Just stop right there. Before the forum Tories walk right into the gaping open net you left. Labour didn't exactly cover themselves in glory over this sort of thing. Nor did the Major Government. It has nothing to do with party politics and everything to do with the effects of power. I agree, both parties are as bad as each other. But that begs the question, what can the ordinary voter do about it? I'm sick to the back teeth of corruption in politics, (along with a lot else.) Someone mentioned integrity, but that's just a distant memory these days. These people grab our taxes and waste them, lie to us, feather their own nests, do favours for friends and cronies at our expense, and are so inept they couldn't organise a p*** up in a proverbial brewery, yet this is supposedly the best we can do? Where did it all go so wrong...?
HeadingNorth
Where did it all go so wrong...? Nothing "went wrong." We get the quality of leadership that we want; after all, we get them because we want them and pick them above everyone else.
anywebsite
Anna B, it's always been wrong. There was no magic time in the distant past where politicians were honest. All politicians all over the world are corrupt, always have been & always will be. That's why they choose that job.
Nagel
Unless you can make £251k+ from meeting him:) I couldn't, hence it's not worth it for me. I'd pay maybe £40 just to to have the story to tell.
