Cyclone
Not of great value is a better description than meaningless. A single anecdote is still meaningless, so are five or ten anecdotes. I agree we just don't know and it wouldn't be very sensible to test it by giving one twin coffee and not the other Indeed, a twin study would be the best way to do it. so all we have is the knowledge that coffee appears to do some good but can be bad if too much is consumed, and many children have consumed it without any apparent hill effects. That's simply not true, the medical consensus seems to be that it's probably harmful for children.
Becky B
Coffee has been linked with lots of health benefits in adults. Ideally we all need to drink several cups of coffee, several black tea, some green tea, at least 1 glass of red wine (but not more than 1.5) and a pint of cask beer. Every day. I think it'd be a bit of a struggle though. Sounds like a perfect day...
francypants
Like I said before, Moderation is the key. Most things, even healthy food & drink if taken to excess can be bad for you.

Bypassblade
French Canadian kids in Quebec often get a glass of wine for supper, as young as 2. Never any problem with hypertension. Do you mean hyperactivity, hypertension is HBP

Super Hans
Might as well give it Red Bull. The only things kids that age should be drinking is water, fruit juice and milk. They shouldn't be taking drugs that alter their brain state IMO, and caffeine will certainly do that.
