Mapman
I have a print of Hunters Bar with a red marble horse trough on the opposite corner to the old bank. The trough was dedicated to one of the snuff family (Wilsons) by one brother after his sibling was killed. I last saw the trough in a field near Ringinglow, but haven't seen it now for some years. Any ideas where it is? (My Grandmother was the cook to the Wilson family in the 20's/30's.)
Nagel
I know the one you mean, it was in a field used as a trough for cows on Cottage Lane. Is it gone now?
shanes teeth
It was in the field between the corner of Cottage Lane and Hangram Lane.It was stolen from there a few years ago.
Mapman
What a shame. It was near the lane so easy to nick, (thieving gits). Its like the gates to Weston park some years ago. Calling names won't help.
Radmunch
It wasn't nicked, it was purchased! It's in the front garden of 164 Knowle Lane, right next to the road
Mapman
Many thanks Radmunch. I'd forgotten that query. Pleased it wasn't stolen, and I take back my reference to "thieving gits".
