GrannyGranny
I worked over there for 8 weeks a few years ago and had an excellent time. Very friendly, great pubs, bars and restaurants. As long as you stay in the city then there's no reason to " tread carefully". As long as everything is red white and blue you should be ok This was just outside our hotel. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=belfast&hl=en&ll=54.592263,-5.935224&spn=0.000012,0.009077&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=7.71095,37.177734&t=h&hnear=Belfast,+United+Kingdom&z=17&layer=c&cbll=54.592835,-5.936439&panoid=9kXV9r-p2NP6tQUJTvmfYQ&cbp=12,284.76,,0,10.32 Seriously we were a group of English lads out every night having a meal and a few drink and not once in 8 weeks did we feel intimidated. We even went into a bar to watch an England game and had some banter with the locals.
