teenyweeny Posted March 27, 2012 Share Posted March 27, 2012 Drink and cigs being targeted yet again,working class people and the poor are having to put up with high rise in taxes on these.For people on good incomes its a small dent in their wallet,why are ordinary people having to suffer.I am very dissapointed in this goverment they are doing nothing for the poor,and more could be done to help the elderly and vulnerable.Thumbs down across the board for the tories. What a stupid post! Alcohol and cigarettes are absolutely luxury items, it's as stupid as saying "They've increased the price of caviare and lobster" The government have no responsibility for keeping prices of booze and ciggies down for the poor! I know plenty of middle income people that have stopped smoking and drinking because they can't afford it. If you're poor, you spend the money you have on essentials, not luxuries!! Both sides are needed for a healthy balance. Unfortunately they fight for power of the extreme and will always ping pong from one side to the other of the table, never finding rest in a healthy balance. They'd be much better off healthwise if they just stopped. People who smoke and drink have been a cash cow for every Government since time immemorial, Labour included. Your op doesn't make any sense.
