Cyclone
It's been wet for approximately 1 week now... And it's mostly just drizzle. On the other hand it was dry throughout the winter and late into the spring. You do the maths, is it the wettest drought ever, or has it actually been unseasonably dry? Particularly since the definition of "drought" that the water companies used is based on available supply, not on number of days without rainfall. medusa
Particularly since the definition of "drought" that the water companies used is based on available supply, not on number of days without rainfall. And the available supply is at least partly calculated on underground water supplies which lag behind surface water by months/years, so no amount of rainfall on the surface will refill them before next year.
