max
Where are you starting from and how far do you want to drive? Also, where have you been already so we can judge what is different?
kmethley
Well we live in Waterthorpe. And we have been to places like graves park, rothervalley, matlock, Skegness.. So, we can travel, although preferably no further than around 50miles one way
Charlie J
We like to head out Castleton way (via Hathersage and Hope Valley) when we go out for a drive from Sheffield. Beautiful countryside and lovely villages!
Strix
I thought we were facing the possibility of petrol shortages How about leaving the car at Woodhouse station and taking the train to Edale or Hope, then doing a spot of walking, or basking in the sun in a beer garden - whichever suits you best

Strix
Do those trains not run on diesel then they'll be running no matter how many or few passengers are on them

Also were you telling the OP Tthat they could leave car at railway station, go drinking and then get back in car on way home. Surely you're not encouraging drink-driving?

DerbyTup
Clumber Park? not far from your side of town. Bakewell, Chatsworth, Hope, Hathersage, Bamford, Castleton, Edale, Burbage Moor, Standedge Edge, Mayfield Valley - all stunning.
