Francis Maude Should Resign

Recommended Posts

How can this incompetent man stay in his highly paid job after creating a public panic?

Because politicians don't resign for being incompetent. If the did they'd all have to resign. Politicians only resign if they're costing their party votes or they're off to take up a lucrative job somewhere else.

This is the calibre of the man. His party is caught selling access to the PM and he tries to blame the Labour Party.

Any decent human being would have said "We were wrong. Sorry".

Not Francis Maude though.

Resign? He should be sacked for this.

In this case, he's done the exact opposite. Does anyone remember that budget thing, where they taxed pensioners and gave it to those who were already rich enough?

Thought not.

Yeah, like Robin Hood in reverse! Except they're robbing poor pensioners and giving it to rich "fat cats" who don't really need the money!:loopy:

No, BSD. A Minister of the Crown should resign because his careless words have sparked a mass panic. If his judgement is so bad when faced with a few lorry drivers threatening to take a few days off, just think how much damage he could cause when faced with a real crisis.

his careless words havent started the mass panic, its the stupidity/ selfishness of the people thats created the mass panic, do you honestly know 2 people who said something like "the m.p on the telly said we need to fuel our cars to the rims " ???

im all for people having to resign if they commit crimes but seriously this panic is a farce, and a damn slow news day ! nothing more

What, precisely, is careless and panic-sparking about saying that there's no need to panic, just keep topped up and store a bit in hand as anyone with common sense would normally do anyway?

The use of the word "jerry-can" was unwise given that most people are insisting it means a 20 litre can - even though for the last forty years, I've heard it use to describe any can of any size used for storing liquids.
