Galloway wins Bradford West. Weird week for politics just got weirder

Recommended Posts

Yep, I have to agree with you. One George Galloway we can cope with, but if a succession of independent oddballs start getting elected we could be in even bigger trouble than we are now.

I'm all for independents but they have to be worthy, intelligent candidates with integrity and ability.

Be careful what you wish for indeed....

Sucking up to dictators, eh?

Not something you'd get a reputable politician doing then?

Talking of dictators, Galloway luuurves dictatarios

Chavez bans free speech broadcasting

and something about being the grand daughter of a racehorse trainer.

George Galloway on Fidel Castro

He's good fun but he really is as mad as a box of dangerous frogs.

Oh, and there's this one, George Galloway Condones Saudi Arabia's Treatment of Women

This is their 'own' country.

They are British and this is Britain.

This is England, not Britain. We created a state for your lot and that is Israel but a lot of a Arabs live there so why do you fight the others.?

A well-deserved kick up the jacksy for Labour, and the rest of the corrupt establishment.

We've still got 3 days of the week remaining. Pasties, Cruddas, posh dinners, Clegg arguing with the Argies, petrol panics, phantom strikes. What else can happen?

Amazing that Screaming Lord Such never gained a seat, but Galloway has.

I must admit to having a sneaking admiration for Gorgeous George, despite all of his obvious failings.

There is a lot of froth and bubble on this thread. I think that the result is great for our democracy. We really need characters to stand up at the moment and challenge the established parties.

Whilst Labour and the Tories believe that power will oscillate between them for decades to come, nothing will change. If they get a whiff of the fact that we are pretty dissatisfied with them and that we are willing to vote for alternatives, then they might just concentrate on winning our votes rather than waiting for them to fall into their laps.

To do that, we need more George Galloways and fewer Francis Maudes...

Totally correct.

What about Cameron, Blair, Bush et al going over to Saudi and loving that regime?

How come you're not as vocal about other politicians who do the same?
