How to get rid of this unelected government

Recommended Posts

I cannot speak for left wingers as I am not one. I do know however that the present government is led by a toff who was a millionaire at birth and at one stage he was on the verge of being investigated for fraud during the time of the expenses scandals. He was let off lightly when he gave a large sum of money back. Do you trust such a man?
As I recall there wasn't much wrong with his expense records and he repaid one expense submission.

I assume you're aware that Blair's expense records were never scrutinised? They were accidentally shredded just as MPs' expenses were hitting the news. At the same time, somebody accidentally erased the computer records, and backups. Most unfortunate.

You can't keep justifying your vitriol for people based just on their background. Some extremely talented people were born in slums and ended up multi-millionaires, part of the 'them' in suits and ties and Park Lane clubs that you so loathe, while some were born to already successful families. Why, other than jealousy, would you hate them?

So do you believe that we should judge people by their class, as stop people from certain classes from do specific jobs?

I believe that the establishment is very strong and controls society as a whole. I believe that they have the key jobs tied up and that anyone from a working class background has no chance of making it to the top . I believe that the tory party are rotten to the core and totally corrupt. I do not believe that new labour were much better.

It was not serious, I went from Orgreave back to Manvers Pit, as I arrived back a bit early I was in time to catch the branch secretary (are you there Frank) attempting to burn the flying picket expenses records which he and other NUM officials were fiddling to pay for their holidays in Tenerife.

Thats socialism for you.

i call that covering your tracks and being in a position not to be done for fraud :hihi::hihi::hihi: ( i wonder why the mps didnt think of that when they were caught ?)

Xenia seems to me to be a regular day to day person.

He's seems like a bit of a Walter Mitty type to me, he spent his working life from leaving school down the pit and in the steelworks until 1996.

I worked for the National Coal Board as a face worker from leaving school to the pit closing in 1986, I then worked in the steel industry for ten years again made redundant.

What did I get out of it? A few quid redundancy and a tendency to chest illnesses.

I went to work as a Security Guard in 1996. I work a nice rota with regular days off, I like the sites I work on, and I get on with the customer, his visitors and employees. The firm I work for (we are contractors) is family owned, I can talk to the gaffer if I am unhappy and although I dont always get what I want they are fair. I get paid accurately and on time.

I actually love it.

Then he was a student.

I used to work behind the bar for them when I was a student and they were always very nice to me.

I reckon sometime in the 1970's.

Josephines opened on November 6th 1976 same night as Mulberry Tavern (both now closed) Dave Allen opened Josies and Mick Lee was first manager of Mulberry. I worked behind the bar for Mick for a few years. At the end of the night we would go to either Josies or Scamps. When I think back these were fantastic times. I remember Georgie Fame, Eric Clapton, Tom Mcguinness coming into Mulberry to see Mick. Clapton had kicked drugs but wqs drinking heavily and Mick made him stand at the end of the bar drinking water.

Xenia will probably tell us he worked 60 hours down the pit whilst being a student, barman and regular nightclubber.

Interesting post, so you condone criminal activity do you? The MPs that were imprisoned (all labour) were done for cheating the state. The Union officials i caught were defrauding striking miners.

Both wrong or one worse than the other?

Who or what is 'the establishment'?

That was just paper talk. The leader of the tories was on the verge of being investigated for fraud as you know, but refuse to accept. He was property speculating with tax payers money. He is greedy and corrupt. He is rotten to the core.
