geared
The lack of social housing is a problem, and it's one that seems to be universally ignored. Old stock was sold off, but instead of putting the money back into new stock as it was intended the councils frittered it all away. Now there's no houses and no money - brilliant thinking!!!! What happened to a fair days pay for a fair days work? because these people are coming home to a house and paying rent/mortgage that is unfairly high. Nothing we can do about the housing bubble tho, it's done it's work and there's no going back.

Its not going to change any time soon because a third of MP's are also private landlords, the rest own more than one house so have a vested interest in keeping property prices high.
