discodown Posted April 11, 2012 Share Posted April 11, 2012 sushi is not even Japanese, but an idea of two Jewish guys in New York. they wanted to try and figure out some way of opening up a restaurant, only withoit going to the trouble and expense of having a kitchen, because they knew the kitchen bit was the most expensive part of the whole thing. so they came up up this idea of not bothering to do any cooking and just give them this raw fish. they sold the idea to a large Japanese corporation, the idea took off in a big way, and the rest is history.
