csd1 Posted April 14, 2012 Share Posted April 14, 2012 The Beighton to Chesterfield section of the Trans-Pennine Trail passes close by S21. There's the Rother valley loop at 3 miles in length - and also the back section near Wales with some steep climbs. Not far from Wales is Kiveton Park Station with access to the canal towpath which runs for miles. At the side of the canal is Hawks Wood and Old Spring Wood with some decent tracks (steep and slippy in one or two places but good fun). I've never found any long trails in the Holmesfield / Barlow area. I've not yet gone off-road in the Peak District, but there must be plenty of tracks and bridleways to be found.
