Fitted Wardrobe Recommendation?

Recommended Posts

Great feedback. I drove past Starlight on the A61 a few times, but never had the time to just drop in... but I certainly noticed their sign saying they are specialists in fitted wardrobes.

Nankivells gave me a lot of confidence in the visit. I hope I will be able to report back in a few weeks on a really good experience.

Hope it all goes well for you :) I know my work mate was very happy with their service.

I love my sliding wardrobes, they really transform the room and save so much space for the amount of storage you get :)

screwfixwardrobes.com they are in partnership with spaceslide you just put in your measurements and choose style of door and colour option and it gives you the price there and then great quality and their interior systems are the best ive seen and i fit them for a living

Out of curiosity, I went to screwfixwardrobes.com and went through the website's design process... three panel doors, two of them, walnut end panel etc. and the price was very high; in comparison. I hope, judging by this, I've got a great deal.

I got it pretty close between ordering it online for all the fittings and fixtures and having floortoceiling do it all as one job. Even the online companies had massive differences which I could not work out as they all seemed to be pretty much the same quality when looking at pictures and descriptions of materials. One of the biggest differences was the rail systems they used but this again was completely mixed when it came to prices comparisons!

If I had ordered online I would have to have found someone to fit it (it took them a day to fit) I think it would have worked out cheaper by a small margin but I decided it was not worth the hassle or risk of making a mess of the ordering!

what you also have to remember is the screwfix/space slide sliding doors are a steel system which are the cheapest systems around similar to the ones available in b&q, they are ok if you are aware of the quality and how well they slide etc,

compare this to an aluminium sliding door system which is far superior and slides alot better.

We used floortoceiling they have a showroom just near devonshire green in the city centre. They were good and the price competitive. We had 4 sliding doors and a mixure of hanging space, drawers and shelves. They are panels with white glass and mirrors and they have been fitted well. We have been really pleased with them and have had them for nearly a year now.

We've used them twice, the first wardrobe must be 6 years old now, and it's still in tip top condition. Excellent quality, reasonable price, and easy to work with to get what you want.

I have also know a friend who used nankivells and they were very happy too. ( I think they might be an ex employee of floortoceiling but take that as rumour)

Sharps are very well made but the price is just not competitive, they were asking for 3.5K more than what we eventually paid and that was in an apparent 50% sale :hihi: I think they maybe go for the top end of the market or people that have money to burn.

Are Sharps not related to Dolphin bathrooms, if so I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole from Watchdog.

  • 4 weeks later...

Today my fitted wardrobe was installed by Nankivells.

I can report that it really looks and feels the business and I am very chuffed with the end result.

The guys doing the job were very professional, and very thorough. They turned up with a whole trolley full of tools (that's separate from the actual wardrobe parts) and various accessories.

It took them from about 08:30 until 15:30 and, at the end, they cleaned up after themselves almost like it was their own home... they brought their own vacuum cleaner! I don't have to do anything.

From the price and the quality and the professionalism I can now recommend Nankivells to others. Avoid B&Q modular stuff installed by a joiner (it's likely not going to be any cheaper). Avoid Betta Living unless you like giving your money away and want them to tell you that you can't having sliding doors, anyway.

I'm genuinely feeling very good about this.
