Kafir
Reeves wasn’t a one-off. He had previously looted two other places, Iceland and House of Fraser, before looting the Reeves furniture store and then setting fire to it.

Jim Hardie
This sentence is no doubt meant as a deterrent to others. Then it should have been a whole life sentence. I doubt whether five years will deter morons.
Mecky
Then it should have been a whole life sentence. I doubt whether five years will deter morons. Even the death sentence didn't deter some people which is why it was abolished. The same goes for corporal punishment in schools.

Phanerothyme
Neither can the innocent. By jove Taxman, you've solved all of our problems with crime! One just has to be prepared to defeat crime at any cost as Danny128 points out - genius.
Balpin
This sentence is no doubt meant as a deterrent to others. I doubt it, for what he did, that is a slap on the wrist. We wernt in the throes of a revolution. It was just downright blatent hooliganism. I think the maximum is Life, for Arson with Intent. For which he should have been sent down for.
