splodgeyAl
@ferno - like I said please excuse my ignorance! The Yamazaki sounds good, is there anywhere in sheffield this can be bought and what price am i looking at? The Dram Shop in Walkley stock it, I believe. It's probably around £20 a bottle. truman
I thought our kilt wearing cousins had protected status on the spelling of Whisky these days!? I thought it was just the label "Scotch"..?
tasha_78_1
Hubby`s favourite is "The Glenlivet". Dont get anything thats very peaty, like Laphroag, its not very nice. About the Scots calling whisky Scotch, its a definite no-no north of the border, they call it "spirits"
Leah-Lacie
My husband likes 'White Horse' whisky. Whether its because its nice, or just because his Grandad has a huge collection of it that he has accumulated on special occasions over the years, and he gets freebies, I don't know

laloola
Either Isle of Jura or if you fancy a bit of something different, try Fireball Whisky Liqueur, available from mitchells and now Asda, it's cinnamon flavoured and when mixed with apple juice tastes like apple pie
Mecky
I don't think you can go wrong with a bottle of Jamesons ... real smooth stuff
chimay
My vote goes to Talisker as something different to your dads usual whisky. May I also suggest whiskey from St George's Distillery in Norfolk.
liz30
My huband's very favourite is Balvennie Double Wood. Alternatively Glen Rothes is a big fave at the Porter Brook Whisky tasting society.
