Those who live here should be given priority every time and if there's none left for people from abroad, well don't come then...
pottedplant
21 is not a kid. I'll rephrase - (your) "children" are for life - not just for Christmas.......(but you did actually use the word kid in your original post).
ricgem2002
I was talking to someone the other day who privately rents and half of their monthly take home pay goes on rent....this seems too high to me. i bet most of the landlords on here disagree with you
discodown
House prices are falling, but rents don't seem to be coming down at all.Landlords have mortgages to pay as well. I know people don't want to hear it and have no sympathy for landlords but there are some good ones out there
Anna B
Just read this: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5gFKhBsqVU7py-DTJl1fcrQGYxq6Q?docId=B20889751334478082A0 What amazes me is they still haven't got a grip on it. In a world where we are acountable (and fined) for just about every movement and aspect of our lives, with red tape and 24 hour surveillance etc, how come they don't even have up to date figures with which to plan? We don't have enough affordable housing, school places, jobs etc, but still we are importing people until we are bursting at the seams. Why? Whats the landlord supposed to do? They aren't a charity

They aren't a charity Exactly, I know if I were renting out property I would want to make a profit after my mortgage, taxes and insurance, we're paid for. Otherwise why take on that responsibility .
