janie48
And whenever they drop near the bottom of the list, you can be sure that Janie will add a random post to bump it back up near the top What ever made you think that? It wasn't me who brought this one back up was it! There's 66 books-worth of proof, you Muppet. You can find them in the Bible. You should read it some time. Keep the faith Bethsmummy. Not heard that used as an insult in a long time:lol: Out of interest why is it proof just because its in the bible?
quisquose
Keep the faith Bethsmummy. X So you frequently complain about "insults" when they are directed against your opinions, but when somebody who shares your opinions directly makes a personal insult, you applaud them. Most god botherers are like that.

Why the hostility? I don't think she was being insulting,i think she used the term muppet in a jokey way.Or if she was it was perhaps as a way of responding to some of the comments she has seen on this thread that could be viewed as a ridiculing of her beliefs. janie48
To save me reading all 100 pages, has the obvious flaw in the poll options been discussed? Havn't you had time to read through the thread redwhine? As i recall you are an active member of the Humanist Secular Society so i expect you have been busy.If i have got that wrong i apologise. In spite of opposing opinions, you at least had a sense of humour and were usually well mannered and polite i remember that from a previous thread. I'm sure, like myself other theists will appreciate that.

Her beliefs being that a man in the sky made everything in 6 days and took the 7th to put his feet up? I cant see anyway of ridiculing such a water tight argument:hihi:

redwhine
Wow, I didn't tyhink even Christians believe the Bible to be factual proof of God's existence! Even if the 66 books mentioned were the actual word of god, they were merely selected from a larger number BY MEN! The Apocrypha contains, for example, the Gospel of Thomas - the original sceptic (...Doubting Thomas...) - and the Gospel of Mary Magdalene. Cherry picking the Wholely Babble is NOT a new phenomenon. http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/apocrypha.html
