Tony
How do you think things started from nothing ? What makes you think that things have to have started from anything, or even have to have started at all?

PaliRichard
We don't know. We're still waiting to find out where that first particle of matter sprung from, that started it all off? Indeed we don't know. I was wondering how long it would be before the pseudo science started. We don't know if there was anything before the big bang or not. All the ideas that are floating around are just that, ideas. What the evidence tells us as the moment is that the big bang is the most likely scenario. What it came from (if anything) is without further evidence speculation, and there are plenty of speculators, all with different hypothesis, in the world of science. So whether you accept nothing, can't accept nothing etc etc is all speculation until we have more evidence.

To me that means "don't discount possibilities". It doesn't mean "add improbable things to the equation".

What the evidence tells us so far is that everything that exists now as always existed but in a different state, we don't know how to create or destroy matter or if it can be created and destroyed, we know matter can change its state, and we have no evidence that nothing is possible, whilst we have insurmountable evidence that matter exists. Yes speculation, and the scientists keep searching. You would think they would have found an answer by now.

Well if you're going to go on results: Evidence provided by science for theories of evolution/big bang etc. = Tons Evidence provided by theists for the idea of creationism = 0 You are talking as though science has made no headway!
