Vote lib dem in local elections?

Recommended Posts

*sigh* but we're talking about the LOCAL elections and supposedly choosing who will run the City best. Nothing to do with the coalition. Vote Green then, but please don't inflict Labour on us again locally, just because you don't like what's having to be done nationally because of the state Labour left the country in.

Don't you care anything about what happens in your city?

Of course I do and thats why I've lived here all my life, and the reason I will be voting Labour on Thursday!:)

It's hard to believe you haven't received at least one leaflet from the LDs. The complaints on here are usually that they overkill with the paper! I've had one sheet and a personally addressed letter so far. In addition to the visit from the Socialists. Nothing from any of the others, no Labour, Green, Conservative.

They don't seem to do hustings much anymore, probably because of the cost of hiring halls and hardly anyone turning up?

Ive had nothing, not one piece of literature only mine and my husbands voting cards

whos in charge of handsworth ward for all parties?
Not sure what you mean? You can see who's up for election by looking on the council website. There should be a list for each ward.

Or do you mean who are your councillors at the moment?

ETA: Maybe the people standing in your area don't have much back-up and no one to help them deliver to all households. You could contact them and ask them to e-mail you some campaign literature. Or you can read the party local manifestos online, I believe.

I was gonna look each party up and see what there arguments are and what they are planning to do but i wasnt sure if each council member had their own areas and ideas what they would do with the said areas

That's what I said. You don't really care about the city and how it's run, you're idealogically blinded. You know all the things they're planning to do if left in control, and you're still going to vote for them. :(

It isn't your ignorance, it is a failiure of the candidates. They are all bereft of ideas, so they resort to fighting each other and fail to tell you and I what they will do for us. It shoud be easy for us to find out, but it isn't.

I suspect that they will get a pretty stiff message on Thursday as voters turn against the main parties in droves.

I'll be honest I want to vote for a party that will benefit me and my family the most, selfish I know, but how do I know when they dont make themselves heard?

I'd have to look for them for you and quite honestly, I dont have time right now.

If you type into google or your search engine, the party name eg Sheffield Conservative Party manifesto 2012,it should bring something up.

I've found the Lib Dem one for you ... just to start you off. :)
