That Lord Ahmed used his mobile phone to send texts whilst driving on a motorway in the dark and rain isn't in dispute. Nor is the fact that he was involved in a fatal accident. He knew he would be convicted on those points so by entering a plea of guilty to dangerous driving, any evidence that he may have been using his phone at the time of the accident couldn't be tested in court or used to determine the sentence handed down.
