THE CORRESPONDENTS

We are very proud to announce the highly anticipated Sheffield return of everyone’s festival favourites, The Correspondents. The enigmatic duo sensationally mix the old and the new in creating one of the most exciting visual experiences around. Jazz, 60s beat, drum and bass, electro, swing, dubstep and hip hop are all thrown into the mix as Mr. Bruce in full flamboyant costume whips any crowd they come across into a frenzy. Their extraordinary attack on the senses has resulted in them appearing in The Telegraph’s Top Ten Highlights of Glastonbury two years in a row now. Put it this way, they are the only act who have performed at the Union (and perhaps even Sheffield) and brought a conveyor belt with them. This will (once again) be massive.

DJ SHEPDOG

DJ Shepdog is the man behind the hugely popular NICE UP! label and club night and responsible for some of the biggest reggae mash-ups in the last few years. Tunes such as "Bigger Than Jamrock", "Skanking In The Way Of Control" and "Rolling in the Dub" have proved popular with DJs across the board and have earned Shep a reputation for being able to rock any dance. With a mission statement of "righteous party vibes" there's always plenty of reggae, hip hop, dubstep and drum & bass thrown into the mix. It’s his Cool Beans debut so let’s welcome him with fully opened arms!

 

JERAMIAH FERRARI

These reggae rockers from Manchester town impressed us so much over Tramlines weekend that we’ve been pestering them to come back ever since. And they’ve finally agreed! Fusing together ska, punk, calypso, reggae and rock the super tight 4 piece have recently been enjoying success all over the place, even more so with the release of latest single “Mindless Riots”. Bouncing bass-lines, the sharpest guitar sound, impeccable drumming all rounded off with lead singer Barton’s perfect melodies. It’s safe to see we’re looking forward to return of Jeramiah Ferrari.

SMILING IVY

Quickly becoming a firm favourite here at Cool Beans, Smiling Ivy blend together a whole melange of styles and with four records out already they mean business. Their music has seen them booked for gigs all over the UK (including a recent joint in Scotland), they’ll be opening the show in spectacular style.

ARNIVORE Feat. THE LEGITIMATE GENTLEMEN

Chief beaner, Threads resident and slipper owner Arnivore will be filling the musical gaps on this fine evening so expect anything and everything in true Cool Beans fashion. He’ll even be joined by hot and upcoming electro-swingers The Legitimate Gentlemen who’ll be providing live trumpet and saxophone. The dream.

 

It’s a big one alright. You can even say it’s massive.
