Moirahyde
Hi Lukka, There are quite a few entries in the newspapers about William the bookie. It appears his 'pitch' was on the corner of Alfred road and Hawke Street. His son Sidney Roy, also appears and it seems he was a very good football player. One of the articles is in the 'Green-Un' in 1924. There are also accounts of people demanding money with menaces. All the following are from the 1939 Register. 554 Brightside Lane, Sheffield. William Aistrup, D.O.B. 30 Apr 1886, Labourer (fitters motor works), married. Agnes E. Aistrup, D.O.B. 20 Oct 1883, Domestic duties, married. Florence Aistrup, D.O.B. 4 Nov 1863, Domestic duties, widowed. 31 Southwell Road, Sheffield. Sidney Roy Aistrup, D.O.B. 7 May 1909, Fitters labourer steel works, married. Evelyn Aistrup, D.O.B. 4 Jan 1908, domestic duties, married. One record officially closed. 69 Alfred Road,Sheffield. Charles Johnson, D.O.B. 23 June 1912, Lorry driver, married. Edith A. Johnson, D.O.B. 26 Dec 1912, domestic duties, married. Two records officially closed. Moira.
