Place to get changed before a wedding

Bit of a random one, but myself and a friend are travelling to a wedding in Sheffield next Saturday and we are arriving by train at about 10am. We just need somewhere to get changed/ get ready for the wedding which is at 1pm. Don't really want to have to pay for a hotel room for a couple of hours so wondered if anybody knows the best toilets in the city?! Or somewhere we can use for an hour or so. It's only somewhere to get changed, don't need any shower facilities etc really. Just a clean place with a big mirror where they won't mind us being there for a bit. Used to be a student in Shef so we only know the student digs like Leadmill ....probs not ideal for pre-wedding preening! Thanks.

ring the nearest hotel you can find to the train station, (probably the novotel) and tell them what you need, and see if they can accommodate you for a nominal fee

where's the wedding? if it's in a hotel, they usually make provision for your requirements for guests

you could also try the church/church hall across the road from the crucible

as alumni, you may be able to blag a small meeting room in the union building

The wedding is at Wadsley Church and reception afterwards at Whitley Hall Hotel- we have got a room booked there and I phoned earlier to ask if we could check in early but apparently the 30 rooms are fully booked as there is a wedding there the night before...they say the earliest we might be able to get in is 12.30pm which is no good with wedding being 1pm. Bit poor really as we're paying to stay the Saturday and the reception is that day! We could use the toilets there but it's just a pain as we are arriving by train and will have to be taxi-ing to and fro.

Thanks all for your advice anyway :) Just had a long discussion with my friend about the best toilets in Sheffield- not something we ever thought we would discuss!! :D

Ponds Forge swimming baths is just accross from the station. Pay to go swimming and just the the changing rooms to freshen up and get ready. :)

Why not go into a clothes shop and use their changing facilities ,trying on some of their clothes of course.

Ponds Forge is the best bet, as none of the bars will be open at that hour; you should be able to use the cafe there for a snack and drink and then be entitled to use the toilets. Failing that, the toilets in the entrance concourse of the train station have been re-done recently, so they look quite spacious and reasonable.

As a cabaret entertainer, I have become somewhat expert over the last few years on this 'Changing while on the move' Strategy, having sometimes even had top change into a costume in the toilet of a train on the way to Manchester lol.
