chem1st
Another bright idea by the council, makes you wonder how they keep their jobs. They are a monopoly organisation, one of the only organisation that still has jobs for life, pensions etc. but that is starting to change. They often trot out the line, "but the market rate for a council CEO is £XX0 000", when they are a monopoly organisation that is funded by the taking of money from citizens by force, and they have no competition. If council tax was voluntary, and councils had to compete for donations form the public it might be the case, but they don't and council tax ain't voluntary. Market rate, they should all be fired and forced to face the 'market'.

Ms Macbeth
Does anyone know why they knocked down a load of 2 bedroom houses on Parson Cross? D'you mean the flat roofed malthouses? If so, the info is here: https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/planning-and-city-development/regeneration/neighbourhood-regeneration/your-neighbourhood/parson-cross/malthouses-demolition.html There is also information there about the new builds in the area. MrSmith
Chantry house in Jordanthorpe was blown up yesterday and razed to the ground. Even more affordable housing was lost. The waiting list for council housing grows further by the day, and the irresponsible elders of this city keep destroying housing. Meaning there is even less to go around. Homelessness in the city shall increase further still. With the largest council housing wasting list in the country, it beggars belief that we are knocking housing down, when we should be building a minimum of 50000 units of housing in order to meet the demand and improve the lives of the residents of our city. Here are a couple of reasons why a council thinks knocking houses down is a good idea. They need demolishing in order to keep the community sustainable. They need demolishing because the foundations aren’t up to current standards and could fail if the estate floods. The only time this area as ever flooded was when Noah built an ark. 7 years and £3,500,000 later there is an empty overgrown field instead of 90 fully occupied houses. Kerrangaroo
at least they didn't put youths in it before they blew it up ....at least it wasn't being used for cannabis production you mean, that would have been a colossal waste.
Mr Gobby
Another bright idea by the council, makes you wonder how they keep their jobs. They keep their job because there told what to do by people higher up in the chain . Get rid of them in the next election and perhaps things may change, but this can only be done by people who take the trouble to vote.
