old tup
As an infant Tup back in the 40s I lived at the bottom of what is now Liversey St.In those days it was a dusty track in the summer, flooded to a fair depth in the winter.I can,t remember when it was modernised with drains and tarmac I wonder if is on record anywhere and how much it cost I,ve always wondered!.Another thing I remembered the field behind Owlerton Stadium was covered in ancient overgrown allotments which were cleared and turned into a football pitch for some firm or other,Sheffield Wednesday used it for training as they had no training ground of their own at this time,I would watch them training from our kitchen window many a time!.:gag:
