Help! Looking for a meeting point/ booth or bar hire in city centre!

Recommended Posts

Hey lovely Sheffield people! I need to pick your brains! :help:

I am organising a night out for a large group of people, ranging in ages from 18 up. As there will be 20-30 of us (possibly more!), it will be difficult to all get together by just meeting in a bar. I am looking to book somewhere where we can all meet and have a few drinks/ chat/ dance for a few hours before deciding where we want to move on to. This way, the older crowd who don't want to go 'clubbing', can still come and socialise for a couple of hours without feeling out of place. We want somewhere lively where we can have a dance but not with the music so loud we can't have a natter (that will come later in the night!).

The ideal place would have been the bottom bar at Forum as has tables but room to dance, music playing to dance to without blaring out etc, but this is already booked for the night we want.

The other option I was given was a booth at Vodka Revolution but I'm not sure if this is too full on to start the night at (we'll be meeting about 8?), and it's normally quite a young crowd. I'm not sure the booths are big enough either? Anyone have any experience of booking these?

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas where we can meet/ book?! (Probably from 8-10/11 till we move on!). Thanking you muchly! :)

Hello,

The Wick at Both Ends sounds like it could be just want you need, we can partition off an area of the bar for you.

We are a cool, lively cocktail bar which also serves amazing food. We are situated on West Street.

Check out our website on http://www.theiwckatbothends.co.uk, or pop in to check the place out!

If you would like to book then email charlie@theharley.co.uk or speak to anyone behind the bar.

Henry's is a lovely bar, on Cambridge street (near back entrance to John Lewis). We have loads of work dos there, and I think you can hire the upstairs balcony area, always a good mix of people and strawberry beer with real strawberries, yum!

The Bessemer (prev Fountain) in town, let you have their private upstairs area for free I think, its not closed in, you can see into the lower area and hear the music etc for dancing, and they do buffet options, with loads of food (not a lot of different food, but loads of what there is, if you know what I mean). We had it for meeting up on my hen night. My sister in law organised it, and I'm not 100% if the room is free ONLY if you have the food, but she did say she told them she wasn't sure how many people were coming, but if it was say, 20, would she have to pay for food for 20, and they told her no, she can invite 30 people and order food for 5 if she wanted, and the room didn't cost anything as she paid £40 with buffet for 10 (20 people turned up)
