'Labour ignored Bank of England warnings, caused recession & cost 1m jobs'

Recommended Posts

A explnation of how and why unions lost you your jobs?

Hello from the Athaneum, thought Id just check in.

To answer your query, Scargill and the NUM heirarchy lost me my job by going on a political strike in a futile attempt to bring down the tories under Thatcher and replace with a Castro style socialist totalitarian state.

They called the strike with nearly three years worth of coal production sat on the pit tops. (coal that no one wanted or needed). As the government could use this coal there was no chance whatsoever that the miners could win the strike by making the lights go out.

Scargill sought funding from Moscow and Libya.

Had he negotiated properly, the redundancies could have been acheived by natural progression and we could have had, by now a viable, and clean coal industry, much smaller but not with the seismic change that was necessary to acheive what was necessary.

The NUM was riven by criminality and politically inspired revolutionery malice. (see my previous posts re this). I was there, a loyal flying picket (until I found out what was going on).

The steelworkers union was less political but just as corrupt. Any limited company committing the acts of fraud and intimidation that either the NUM of Steelworkers Unions did would be held in the utmost contempt and subjected to crimna lprosecution.

As these gangsters were backed by the LABOUR party they never came under the scrutiny that they should have.

I have stated my position a number of times. I trust you and your bruvvers will take this as my definitive position.

The name calling and abuse can start NOW. (I am still right)

Investing in Apple with my redundancy meant that my Wages just pay for the cruises. Nice of you to ask. Anything else that fascinates you?

Ouch, you purchased shares to give you an income, and they then haven't paid a dividend for 17 years.

That doesn't make any sense at all and to say it's extremely short-sighted is kind. You should read through your thoughts again and make the necessary edits.

How can you qualify someone's own personal experiences?

I was on your side until I read this bile. I guess your distaste for the miners and steelworkers unions didn’t stop you handing back your redundancy money, something that only came about due to the employment rights fought for by trade unions, the same rights that the current government is trying to dismantle.

Have a nice trip but don’t forget if it hadn’t been for the unions you wouldn’t have had the money to invest in the first place.

And if it hadnt been for the unions I might have had either jobs a lot longer.

No good having employment rights if you kill all the jobs. Unions never did anyone any good except the union bosses.

Unions do not call strikes, they ballot their members who then decide whether or not they want to strike.

Labour do not back unions, unions back the Labour Party.

Could, would, if etc. It's just a load of double talk isn't it?
