LiddleLorz
So I know that construction has started under the Cheesegrater car park to turn the space into a casino, but does anyone know the history of this space? What did it use to be? How long has it been derelict?
Trojan horse
I'm pretty sure it used to be the registery office, the 'wedding cake'. on that bit of land. Why there would be space underneath it, I've no idea.

Thanks xThere was no Cheesegrater there then In its time the Wedding Cake as it was known locally, was one of those landmark buildings, very innovative. http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire/content/image_galleries/register_office_gallery.shtml?
HARTLES
So I know that construction has started under the Cheesegrater car park to turn the space into a casino, but does anyone know the history of this space? What did it use to be? How long has it been derelict? If the Cheesegrater is built on the site of the old registry office the space underneath would have been the underground car park for the town extension(the eggbox). The exit from this was just behind the Yorkshire Grey pub.
