I don't think Ed Milliband will be electable, but if he is replaced I think Labour could be much more electable than the Tories by the next election. Cameron is only liked by one person in the whole country (Clegg), and Boris Johnson as leader would be the Tories' version of Michael Foot. Jim Graham
I don't think Ed Milliband will be electable, but if he is replaced I think Labour could be much more electable than the Tories by the next election. Cameron is only liked by one person in the whole country (Clegg), and Boris Johnson as leader would be the Tories' version of Michael Foot. I don't think Labour are electable but the current lot could and should be kicked out in 2015 if they don't their act together soon. The problem is that the people don't want austerity at any price. They simply don't understand how bad things could get and they don't care if the pain is just deferred to another generation. Sorting out this almighty mess is a thankless task for any government. Labour's fingerprints are all over the financial crisis but they have the luxury of sitting on the sidelines carping at every attempt to sort it out. Come the next election they can point at the government struggling and claim to have all the answers and a free golden unicorn for every household. Of course they'll get elected. And then the Tories will be on sidelines while Labour struggle. Then Labour will be kicked out and so on. We are in for a period of one term governments as each struggles to deal with the problem and the opposition scoff at their attempts and make unrealistic promises. The only thing that could save Cameron is if Greece goes into total meltdown in the next three years as it looks as though it will
