In my line of work, I've seen people have about 3, 4 gang extensions, plugged into another 4 gang extension

At one pub in deepcar only one socket about fifteen feet from the disco area was available we used to gaffer tape an extention cable to the step that seperated the two rooms.The lights were leds so the current draw was safe enough but looked dodgy with two ten ways connected to the two way on a karaoke night.The rcd was there to look after us but never tripped out once.
