France votes for Socialism over austerity

Recommended Posts

I do wonder why people like this voted lib dem in the first place. Surely they realised they could never win the general election and hence the best they could ever hope for is a subset of the policies as a part of a coalition combined with whichever party had enough seats to form a coalition? So if they did not want that, they should not have voted for that.

The LibDems did a good job of deceiving voters (and their own rank and file) that they were the only party not fronted by an assortment of megalomaniacs, sociopaths and compulsive liars.

They won't be able to pull that one off again in the near future.

High earners say au revoir to France

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/globalbusiness/9261905/High-earners-say-au-revoir-to-France.html

Thier loss is our gain as our tax revenues will rise as the wealthy French moved to London. Ain't socialism grand, provided it's some other country destroying themselves by doing it.

We should introduce a special tax rate just for these people.

To be fair it is the Torygraph so you'd expect them to say that. We all know it's an empty threat anyway.

We did, 45%. Hence they are flocking here to pay their taxes rather than staying in France to pay their taxes there.

I meant a special rate for these mercenaries. Say 2% below what they would have had to pay in La France.

A brilliant plan if we wanted to send the message "we don't want your filthy taxes on your dirty enormous incomes." Not entirely convinced that this would be a good idea when we need all the cash we can get though.
