I1L2T3
You do see how much better life might have been if Gordon Brown had been tragically killed in a motorbike accident as a teenager? With all due respect that's a pretty idiotic thing to post. I think you've lost it mate.
Balpin
Keynesian politics has a lot to offer. Make work to create work, it does work. I may be off topic here, I have not read the full thread.

Keynes advocated endless massive unsustainable borrowing to the point where the first call of the treasury is to pay interest did he? I must have missed that. I must have missed that. I thought he advocated creating work, to create work. As in road building and house building, industry to create industry.. Creative projects that get the country on the move, rather than being a stagnating mess. I may be wrong of course as I often am.
mj.scuba
Good luck to the French , I hope it works out well for them. However if they're to do the opposite of austerity, I hope they can self fund and don't expect others to bankroll their spending ambitions such as the EU or IMF. More like AngryGardener. And I've moved the goalposts how? My original argument is that rich french people will leave france if a 75% tax rate is introduced and many will come to london. My current argument is that rich french people will leave france if a 75% tax rate is introduced and many will come to london. Anyone see any movement there? No, you tried to imply that people are leaving France and buying property in because the French public voted in the socialist government. I said people from all over the world come to live in the London/UK and not just people from socialist countries. You then tried to accuse me of bringing in the socialist argument.
