Is there any wonder some of our young don’t want to work.

Recommended Posts

The vast and overwhelming majority of our young people do want to work, and are fighting for places.

Do not tar them all with same brush, as those idiots we see hanging about all day.

50 years ago, there was no such thing as youth unemployment.

But today, there is no work for them, anywhere.

My guess is his parents will be of the attitude that the rent/CT being charged is because he got off his arse and got a job. If he didn't they wouldn't have to pay it so why should they chip in, they're unemployed and only those that work have to pay dues.

It's a pathetic view IMO.

He should look for a flat for himself.

That's an extremely good idea, since the UK imports most of it's goods from abroad and therefore the cost of living is largely out of the hands of the UK public and government. Foreign exporters can increase the cost of goods to the UK ensuring we remain uncompetive as British workers have to ask their employers for wages increases just to survive.

It may be starting, already comments have been made about the rising cost of manufactured goods from China.

If, for instance we could encourage M&S, Tesco, etc to show preferential treament to British made products would it be such a bad thing to have thousands of people working in "low paid" jobs?

Change the tax system so that anyone earning less than, Say £4.50 paid no tax or NI. (although they would receive NI credits).

Costs of production down, millions saved from benefit costs. Hundreds of thousands back in work. Surely better than present situation?

Its time the law was changed, bring back work houses, they worked before why not now?

Won't happen, no matter how much the Mail readers clamour for it.

It might have to, already there are people in serious trouble in Euroland, if that situation gets worse it wont be long before we are as skint as them.

What happens if their is no money to pay benefits? The workhouse may seem a blessing. Dont write the idea off.
