SHYTOT
Has any of you good people been to bali, and if so what money did did you take currency wise. thankyou I took $US. It depends where you are going. The area south of Denpasar is commercial tourist. You probably won't need much there other than dollars. The north is less commericial and rupias are required. But you can swap dollars for them. callippo
if you do bring US dollars make sure the bills are in good condition. They don't have to be mint, but they have to be quite new. Most visitors to Bali are Australian, and they wouldn't bother buying any US dollars usually. Aussie $ can be spent on the street too, but you get your change in rupiah and at pretty bad rates. You can only spend these two currencies on the street in the most heavily touristed areas, it's not like somewhere like Cambodia where the US dollar is the de facto currency and you can spend them on the street anywhere in the country.
