andyofborg
Being able to fire incompetent workers, will not marginalise or radicalise anyone who's actually any good at their job. you clearly haven't understood what is being proposed. anyone, good or not, will be dismissable at a whim
Jim Graham
Surely if you are a working man it won't affect you, it’s so employers can get rid of useless non working men or women. Who knows, we might even get to the point where those who want to work have the jobs and those who don't want to work don't have jobs so they don't have to. What's not to like? Sebtine
Being able to fire incompetent workers, will not marginalise or radicalise anyone who's actually any good at their job. Being "good at ones job" is one of those very subjective phrases that is very much open to abuse. How can it be proved or disproved?

andyofborg
while this may be a dark cloud, it does have a silver lining and that is that employment practices such as the ones proposed are what drove the formation of unions

Jim Graham
are you william hague? there are many reasons why the country is in the mess it is now, one of them being workers being forced to work for almost nothing . You need to go back a bit further. One of the reasons we are where we are is the unions demanding workers DO almost nothing. The problem is that low skilled workers get far more than they are worth thanks to unions.
shane39
: I don't think call centre work would suit me due to me wearing a hearing aid, making "reasonable adjustments" would be quite expensive for the employer as for me to do call centre work, they'd have to buy a special "hearing aid compatible" headset, which you can only get from the RNID, and they ain't cheap. I could do something like data entry or a typing job though, something that involves being sat in front of a PC for a few hours, which I do all day in my own time anyway, but one day I want money for doing it If you want money for 'doing it' Rich.....How about a bit of escort work? nudge nudge..wink wink..
