PeteMorris
In fairness, I didn't actually say that, did I. It's not "punishmernt or...", but "punishment and...". You've lost me. I don't see what the fabled "PC Brigade" has to do with it. I've not met anyone who thinks criminals shouldn't be punished, but a lot of people think it's also a good idea to turn criminals into ex-criminals. You don't favour recidivism do you? Ok I accept that it's a good idea to try and reform prisoners. The use of the term PC Brigade, was all I could think of to try to describe what I call the wooly tights and coloured cardighan type people, who never see a prisoner as being just plain horrible, but a victim of circumstance and from a deprived background. As opposed to the hang em high, or throw away the key type person. Hang on I've just got to look up the word 'recidivism' ................... .............. Ok, got it now. The plain fact, is that, yes it does happen! I wouldn't say I was in favour or otherwise!
Jeffrey Shaw
They do when the UK government passes an Act to give them jurisdiction. No, that's precisely the opposite of the truth. They have no jurisdiction in the UK; Parliament does and legislates here.
