People who enjoy the downfalls of others

Recommended Posts

The people i dislike the most are those who inherit, who have never had two pennies to scratch their bums with..and come across as holier than though attitude and love to see their family struggle and others..They make me sick as they squander their money.

You have got someone in particular in mind. I can tell!:hihi:

What makes me laugh is how totally "self-made" they like to think they are, even though it is the road, hospital, law enforcement and social housing infrastructure (all of which are provided by the state) that have created the condusive environment in which they are able to operate.

But the same 'condusive environment' is open to everyone, yet not everyone becomes 'self made'. Some greatly succeed, some greatly fail, and most of us muddle along to various degrees in the middle.

So there clearly IS something about how different individuals respond to the condusive environment around them. It is each individuals combination of skill, vision, determination, (and an element of luck), that seperates the self made from the rest.

To suggest that people are primarily a product of a government-provided environment is simply false.

And they think they're so clever and classless and free, but they're still******* peasants as far as I can see.........John Lennon.
Old John wasn't above earning a few quid in his time. I'm not sure a lot of it went to help the starving poor, but I could be wrong. I was the youngest of a very socialist family in Sheffield as a kid, until I joined the Royal Navy, which was conservative to the core. I found most of the middle class were too, not monsters at all, just trying to make a living like you and me. Many ran small businesses, which employed good skilled people without having the unions trying to break them.

You're going to legislate to prevent parents buying things for their children?

Good luck with that. It sounds like a real vote winner! :loopy:

In a previous thread the OP (or another alias of, the posting style is very similar) claims he had a huge inheritance and gave it all away to make his own way in life. Now he wants everyone else to do the same.

This thread is a thinly veiled attempt to get around to that subject. Don't play his game!
