Olympic Torch Shame

Recommended Posts

<<<I think the only British owned production car still being made albeit in small numbers is the Morgan>>>

Ginetta, made in Sheffield until fairly recently, now in Garforth.

OT, sorry!

Jaguar? Land Rover/Range Rover? Astra? Some Nissan/Toyota?

I think a more alarming point is that all the silly olympic flame stuff was invented by the Nazis in Germany in Hitler's games to celebrate the "aryan race".

Yes. Most of the Olympic 'history' attributes are nothing of the sort. The whole modern nonsense began only in 1896, remember.

Why? the war ended in 1945 and don't tell me you've never owned a VW - there are thousands of them or are you saying we should ban German and Japanese imports. What make is your TV? maybe we shouldn't watch the olympics on Japanese TVs:roll::roll:

The war never ended, and never will.:o

Geoffrey Shaw,

All makes listed are foreign owned as stated before.

Apologise on the only other car manufacturer is long term Ginetta. Albeit small volume like one or two other makes.

This country has allowed its manufacturing base to be decimated over the last 30 years starting with Thatcher , who proclaimed UK would be the Financial Capital of Europe and to hang with UK Industry.

Now we are down the slippery slope to 3rd world status by successive governments who fail to look after the interests of its population

It looks to me like everyone is missing the point.

It reads to me that we seem to be parading a foreign car rather than a British car.

I doubt if you would see a British car escorting an olympic torch in Germany or in many other Olympic countries when it would be a good opportunity to advertising one of own made cars.

This is nothing to do with the war it is a chance to take pride and promote British cars shown on television all over the world.

Happy Days! PopT

Thank You !

A least you understand my point!
