Chun Li
ABH is the second most serious crime in England behind murder. Such a person would not have knowingly be let into the USA. That really tickled:hihi::hihi:

Chun Li
Generally, people don't need visas to enter the United States if they are British citizens. The ESTA mentioned above, and the visa waiver form that you fill in on the plane, will be enough. Exceptions are made for certain groups, convicts being one of them; but children should have no problem. Your ex-con friend will only get a definitive answer by calling the US Embassy, declaring what convictions he has had, and asking them if he'd be allowed in or not. If drug convictions are among them I would not be hopeful. I was told theres a sort of list of crimes that they use as a yardstick and drugs convictions are on the top of that list so if its drugs i dont fancy anyones chances. I dont know that for certain though its just something i was told once.
Sebtine
Also behind manslaughter, and attempted murder, and wounding, and GBH, and rape... No. It is a constitutional offence.
sanman
i don't know fully about it all as it not me i think they have few convictions but. not sure i know one is drug related and one is theft not sure about the others there was when this person was drug independent thank you to everyone who has helped do children need visas etc If you or your friend do contact the embassy for advice please be careful on the terminology you use. You are not applying for a Visa you are wanting to travel under the ESTA programme. And yes everyone needs one I believe.

You are not applying for a Visa you are wanting to travel under the ESTA programme. And yes everyone needs one I believe. At this stage, you're correct, but I'm fairly sure that a person with a criminal record will not be allowed to travel under the ESTA programme, and will have to apply for a visa. The Embassy will confirm (or deny) that as well.
