exryalls
Yes, it is a good walk. More people seem to be doing it every year with their families. It seems to be very popular. Some interesting things to see and great views. Part of it goes past my house.

Kerrangaroo
This might help you decide, it even points out the watering holes. http://www.visitpenistone.co.uk/walks/thurgoland_boundary_walk.html

metalman
I've done this and it really is a good walk. There is one bit that's very uphill but then if you go walking round here I dare say you're used to that. There's a good view from the top of it (you can see the power stations to the east for example like on Houndkirk Moor) so pick a clear day. Edit: we started off at Silkstone or Silkstone Common, I think, whichever's on the round walk map.
Eckolad
Printed of the map, will take a packed lunch and vist a pub on the way!
metalman
A couple of other things I've remembered looking at the map: the path at point 2 is not terribly easy to find as it's hidden in the trees almost straight in front of you; there's a more obvious one that turns right but you don't want that one. And keep a look out for dragonflies on the water board road by Thurgoland Bridge.
