Internet porn restrictions

Recommended Posts

No I don’t think a child that comes across porn on the internet will come to the conclusion that something squirted in your eye will be the defining point of a loving sexual relationship, because I doubt they will search for the minority of porn that ends that way. Clearly if they do find the eye squirting has interesting has you it may become part of the sexual behaviour in the future.

:huh:I never said it was interesting (nice attempt at another poke though) I said it was the end result of the majority of porn which you seem to be burying your head on. Can I ask what porn you watch outside of mainstream?

So you freely admit that if you chose a particular sexual behavior it could become part of your sexual behavior in the future? Has it occurred to you that a child may not chose, but the behavior itself might chose them depending on their personality and or vulnerability?

It may seem as though I'm an advocate of censoring children from porn..which I'm not. What IMO is wrong is that porn has become an educational tool because mainstream sex education is dumbed down..in other words, censored.

Ps. Forget the first question...it's off topic.

For you to come to the conclusion that

The overwhelming majority of porn ends with the females face being used as a receptacle.

And

something squirted in your eye
you must watch a lot of it, and to watch that much of the same type of porn gives the impression it interests you.

If it doesn't interest you, why do you watch it, and if you don't watch it, how do you know that most porn ends with a face being used as a receptacle or an eye squirt?

I think it’s the parents job to sensor what their children can watch.

For you to come to the conclusion that you must watch a lot of it, and to watch that much of the same type of porn gives the impression it interests you.

So for you to come to the opposite conclusion of mine would infer that you also watch enough porn to be able to make your call.

I didn't say it interested me or not...that was your implication...the whole thrust of your argument is implication. If you can make the call you've made as a counter argument then I can only assume you watch porn. As you constantly keep repeating the term I can only suggest you have some fascination with facials. As an adult you shouldn't feel so guilty..porn is as normal as corn flakes.

I think it’s the parents job to sensor what their children can watch.

Yes well we'd all love to believe that but in the real world.....

On second thoughts..it would be interesting to know what type of porn you do watch? (If it's illegal and outside mainstream please refrain from divulging otherwise the thread will be closed)

It infers that I have viewed a much wider verity than you.:D

In the real world it is up to parents to look after their children, that includes not giving them private access to an unrestricted computer and net connection. They can already take multiple steps to avoid that, starting with where the computer is located, adding software to the computer and asking the ISP to block adult sites, all of which is more than enough tools for the parent to do their job.

It would make the best solution be "block online content, either through your ISP (which is what is being suggested anyway) or through a software based-content blocker".

Basically what we're arguing about is who the burden of activating/deactivating an adult-content blocking service.

I think the best solution would be to make all ISPs offer this as a service which is deactivated by default, with concerned parents activating it. Simples, no?

What you are proposing is that ISPs provide this service activated by default, with anyone who wants to view adult content having to deactivate it.

I definitely think the burden should be on the parents. Why should anyone else suffer?

And how many people would want to be on a database of internet users who like to look at porn?

Its not a burden, it could just be a tick box when you apply for your account. Thus less technically minded people will be protected by default. It just makes more sense that way.

A lot of people aren't technically confident though, it would be better to use an activation code to access any sites that require you to be over 18. Or they could come with a pre-installed childrens account or something like that.

But yes you would hope the parents were taking some kind of interest but then you can't watch them all the time.

lots of people let their kids have computers i their bedrooms though? Maybe if it was in the communal areas they could keep an eye on them.

Why not put the burden on those who need protection to tick the box?

Since access to adult content (not just porn) CAN have a negative effect on children and NO access to adult content DOESN'T have a negative effect, I would be inclined to go with internet services being provided without adult, unless requested. It could be done in the same way as password renewals, ie, a verification link is sent to the bill payer's email account, which they simply click to allow adult and customise the adult restrictions from there.

I found it annoying that I couldn't watch "adult content" tv shows on my phone (misfits) without calling Virgin mobile to activate it first, but it's only a phone call to make. Or just use a 3rd party viewer (Opera etc).
