If you're not well enough to go to work..

Recommended Posts

I always think it should be the other way around. Rather than "if I'm not well enough to go to work, then I'm not well enough to *insert leisure activity here*", it should be "if I'm not well enough to do my normal leisure activities that I want to do, am I well enough for work?". :)

Depends on the illness/occasion, it's not a black and white question. Being well enough to sit in a bar/restaurant and chat to people for a bit doesn't mean you're necessarily well enough to do an 8 hour shift. If the person has stress/depression, then socialising might actually do them good. You can leave a night out at any point, go at whatever pace you want to. Not necessarily so in the workplace.

If a person rang in sick for work, do you think it is acceptable for them to go out that same evening for a work related do? I think not, but am interested in your opinions.

If you want to collect your P45 the following morning, yes it is.

I wouldn't have the nerve!

My thoughts exactly!!!

You wouldn't believe me if I told you the nature of the ailment...lets just say it was foot related, however they were perfectly able to wear heals and dance the night away. To say we were seething when we saw the pics the following day is an understatement!
