I get payed via the BACS system and it always goes in my bank the next day, payed out Thursday and in my account midnight Thursday/Friday morning. Be warned it's about an hour long documentary but it's basically explaining how we have been fooled and manipulated by the banks for years , and what we can do together to stop it ! Lucky you. The BACS system normally takes 3 working days as described in the wikipedia article. The new FPS service which a lot of banks have now implemented takes <1 day, I quite often see payments processed in <4 hours if both sides of the transaction are using FPS.
