HeadingNorth
i approve of tax systems which tax the rich far more than they tax the poor I find that bizarre. Surely the point of a tax system is to raise revenue .. why would you prefer a system that raises less revenue over one that raises more?
bigsexydoug
if that is the case then we shouldn't be introducing a flat tax thats nothing to do with austerity or taxation though if you are unhappy with the price rise then all you have to do at the end of the contract is to move to a different provider. so you would rather have a tax system thats flawed in favour of the rich with tax loopholes than have a system that has no loopholes where everyone pays the same percentage of their earnings ????? saunaman
I see the Daily Mail strategy of "divide and rule " is still alive and well ! When will people realise that "the programme" is being implemented by ALL parties , eg New Labour introduced the idea of police privatisation and PFI , and the Condems are just carrying on this programme . They view the electorate as a group of caravan-owning , pasty-munching sheep with seething resentments against the obese , public sector, immigrants , housing benefit fraudsters etc. etc. What is the answer ? Longcol
I would welcome a tax system that worked well and brought in lots of revenue - unfortunately that just doesn't seem to be happening , and the taxes that ARE generated are being spent behind closed doors ????? What's paying for the health service, education, unemployment benefits, state pensions, defence etc then?
Harleyman
In a nutshell they are not paying their fair share of taxes and have plenty of shyster tax accountants employed to make sure they dont

saunaman
So the agenda remains the same , regardless of which political party is in power ? Interesting thought ....
HeadingNorth
So the agenda remains the same , regardless of which political party is in power ? A short while ago in this thread you stated that as a claim, without providing evidence - now you're inferring it as a conclusion despite nobody presenting evidence in the meantime, either for or against?
