Then I discovered The Wap & Rebels

Iwent to broomhill school in the early 30ties someone was asking about theSmith family of Poole st I was in the same class as Jack Smith his father was the local chimmny sweep I wonder if he is still alive.

hi alan , the buccaneer was on leopold street if i remember right , down some stairs and below ground level i think , the pints were served in a plastic ( not glass ) pot .

as a kid used to go to millhouses park quite a lot remember the padling pool and lido?

 

as a young adult spent far to much time in the wheatsheaf at parkhed

 

also used to go down town to west street hotel on a sunday night

As a young 'un I used to hang around the parson Cross Hotel, coz we lived across the road. Few years later , used to hang around on the Brook, at the back of Deerlands Avenue. As a teen, used to hang around Longley, yes drinkin....mostly in Longley Park.. How bad is that? Daren't go in there after dark now...
