Twisted Beer Festival - great beers all summer!

Recommended Posts

Middle of worst recession in living memory, situated in the middle of a working class northern city, populated by tight Yorkshire folk...

I know, lets start selling beers at double what anywhere else is doing them for!!! (apart from that Dee-dah-dada bar, which strangely seems to be empty all the time) :hihi:

Hey all,

Sorry, we are situated on West Street - opposite Subway.

The first fortnight of the Twisted Beer Festival is focused on the British Isles and runs from Mon 18th June until Sun 1st July. The six British Isles beers are as follows:

Innis and Gunn Rum Cask: Rum Cask is fun, vibrant and spicy. Who would have thought that rum and beer would work so well?? The unique combination of specially brewed beer, rum and oak that just makes this beer sing! £4.70.

Robinsons Old Tom: Recognised, both nationally and internationally, as one of the most famous strong ales, winning some of the industry’s most prestigious awards including World’s Best Ale. £4.70.

Spitfire: Originally brewed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, its characteristically Kentish, hoppy flavour and risque advertising campaign has made it a firm favourite with beer lovers. £4.30.

Banana Bread Beer: This unique brew combines all the traditional qualities and style of a Charles Wells beer with the subtle flavour of banana. £4.10.

Worthington White Shield: Worthington’s White Shield is a multi-award winning beer. To date, no other beer has won this many awards, showing how consistently great tasting this beer is. £5.90.

Bradfield Farmers Blonde: Currently a top seller, this very pale brilliant blonde beer has citrus and summer fruit aromas making it an extremely refreshing ale. £4.50.

Remember, get hold of a Twisted Beer Festival passport from The Harley or the Wick. Buy five of the beers and get the sixth free each fortnight!

2nd July - 15th July is Abbey and Trappist Belgium, and we've got some stonkers for you. We'll post up the beer list nearer the time.

x:love:x

BLOOD AND SAND !!!!!

How much ? Those prices are ridiculous ..

A fantastic 'real beer' brewery is missing off your list. 'Brew Dog' from Scotland. They brew some fantastic bottled ales that vary in abv fro 4 to stupid % and work out far cheaper than the faff that you are offering per pint. How can you justify pricing your ales so ? Are you trying to promote real ale or just after making a fast buck from the easily swayed student populous around West Street ?

I shall be purchasing my fine ales far cheaper from my local off licence thank you very much..

Hey guys,

Maybe we should have left the British Isles out, but wanted to stock some great bottled beers! Basically the recession is hitting us very hard too. Beers cost more for us to buy in, especially when you consider the crippling Duty Escalator – a factor putting many pubs out of business. As an independent business committed to quality stock, we can’t operate on economies of scale.

For the other fortnights/regions we were able to use different suppliers and have been able to pass on some great savings on some fantastic and unusual beers. For instance:

Abbey and Trappist Belgium: Orval 6.9%ABV for just £2.80

Europe: Einstok Toasted Porter 6.0%ABV for just £3.00

Asia: Singha 5.0&ABV for just £2.50

Southern Hemisphere: Windhoek 4.0%ABV for just £2.20

North America: Flying Dog Doggie Style 5.5%ABV for just £3.00

As well as these great offers don’t forget that each fortnight, including this British Isles fortnight, you can get a Twisted Beer Festival passport from either venue. Buy five beers and get the sixth free!

Thanks,

The Wick and The Harley.

I paid £3.40 for a pint of Farmer's Blonde in a city centre bar on Friday night and thought that was steep. £4.50?! FOUR POUNDS AND FIFTY PENCE?! For a bottle?!

Bleedin' nora.

Good luck with the Festival...you're going to need it.

BEER buffs are not going to be conned in to paying these prices for bottled beers, Sheffield has many great real ale outlets.

Now the Sheffield Tap , in the past has been hit with bad reviewS for charging 70p above the going rate.!!

£4 upwards for bottled beer?? !!

NO THANK YOU.
