RootsBooster
The more I read this one, the harder it was to believe it was a serious article, some deluded psychotherapist lady was caught out by an undercover journalist when she tried to "cure" him of his gayness. From this article: "During the session she asked him whether he had been abused as a child or bullied at school and whether any of his relatives had been Freemasons as a possible cause of his homosexuality." Quite rightly, she has been struck off. "Christians will think twice about using traditional biblical Christian counselling methods. I never knew that religious beliefs/acts were used in medicine in this country. Does anyone know if this was private or on the NHS? “It will definitely close people down, it will definitely engender a climate of fear. Good, I'm glad that people will be afraid to treat homosexuality as an illness. “There is a wider agenda that diversity and equality, which is supposed to be what our society upholds, is upheld for everyone except for those who have traditional Judeo-Christian values, I think that is very disturbing" Does she not see the glaring irony in her own comment? She genuinely seems to have no understanding of what she's done wrong.
Teddybare
Did it work? I'm only interested because I'd like to be able to use the word "gay" freely again.

LeMaquis
Christianity is a medieval religion that is at least 500 years behind secular civilization, to paraphrase others on here.

I don't think it's THAT bad! ...but it is surprising to hear that, in this day and age, an educated and professional adult psychotherapist can believe that homosexuality is an illness. Hardly "caught out" he was an undercover journalist posing as a Christian gay man who wished to be treated for his "unwanted same sex attraction". It's hardly shocking that if he found someone who claimed she could treat this and when he requested the treatment he got it.

It's hardly shocking that if he found someone who claimed she could treat this and when he requested the treatment he got it. The shocking bit is that the person he found was a qualified psychologist. That's equivalent to finding a cancer doctor who recommends homeopathic treatments. Digsy
Do you see your attractions as being psychological or biological? 100% psychological, I'm not attracted to anyone but my wife, never have been, don't get me wrong I can identify pretty faces, nice eyes or smile, but I don't feel anything physical about it.
