Gamadar
sigh its NOT a cashcow, no speeders = no money, its people like you that feed them sigh......I do not object to being penalised for speeding. If speeders were given points ONLY it would stop any allegations of it being a cash cow. This lying bunch could PROVE BEYOND ALL DOUBT that it was NOT about making money. They fact that they will not do this proves that they are extorting money from motorists.

My point is that the liars could stop all allegations of the speeding ticket system being a cashcow simply by using the points system alone. They fact that the liars will not do this proves that it is a money spinner , a cashcow, a nice little earner.
Isabelle
Would just giving points put drivers off who regularly break the speed limit? They might just see it as they can get caught speeding 3 times without any effect on their licence.

MrSmith
Why do you think that? A stationary white van isnt something that would trigger a safety alarm to a competent driver, its no threat and there are plenty of things going on that would deserve real attention. All this speed crap does is give the incompetent drivers some excuse for incomeptent driving and often results in them doing dangerous things as a result of their bad attitudes. where the speedo points is no indication of safe driving what so ever, most accidents happen below the speed limit but speeding fines and courses do make large amounts of money. And the courses are full of inacuracies so whats the point in them? They are just a legal bribe. Private companies should not profit from so called criminal offences because the obvious would happen and thats just what happening. Camera vans are not interested in proper speeders just the creepers over by a few mph, thats the only ones they can profit from as the proper speeders wont qualify for courses so theres no interest in them.Dont you find anything wrong with that? And there’s your problem, a defensive driver will be assessing every vehicle on the road, paying attentions to parked vehicles to see if anyone is sat in it, or if it’s about to drive off, or someone step out in front of it. They are very difficult to miss unless you aren’t looking in which case you would deserve to be caught and fined if you are over the limit. No fine, just three months with no driving. Twice in one year and you lose it for 2 years. That would make people be more careful and it wouldn't be about making money. Convict Edd
Rather than increase the fines for speeding. Why not make cyclist and mobility scooter drivers pay their way? Tax them and bobs your uncle. More money for the gov.
